Today Haggen released an announcement detailing its support of Albertson’s LLC’s proposed plan to purchase 29 Haggen stores. And in the announcement came news 15 stores will continue to be operated under the Haggen brand name.

The last four days brought in, not one, but two significant windstorms. As a result, many Ferndale neighbors are looking at cleaning up after downed trees and repairing property damage.

About 1pm on Friday, March 11th, a Ferndale Police officer pulled over a vehicle in the area of the “Y” at Enterprise Road and Portal Way. According to the officer’s radio conversation with What-Comm dispatch, soon after being pulled over two individuals attempted to elude him by leaving their vehicle and running into the Ferndale Mobile Home Park (previously known as Dunkin’s).

The forecast for the expected windstorm due to arrive late this afternoon and last through the evening has been updated as the front makes its way up the Washington coastline.
Update 3pm: New details here as storm front gets closer.
UPDATE 9am: According to the NWS, the storm is moving along its path faster than expected. As a result winds are expected to pickup a couple hours earlier than initially predicted and the high wind warning has been moved from beginning at 2pm to noon.

Weather forecast models 12 hours ago indicated today’s predicted windstorm will be packing more of a wallop than the two prior. But the latest models are not as foreboding.
