Haggen name to remain on Ferndale store if Albertsons purchase is approved

haggen logoToday Haggen released an announcement detailing its support of Albertson’s LLC’s proposed plan to purchase 29 Haggen stores. And in the announcement came news 15 stores will continue to be operated under the Haggen brand name.

According to the announcement,

The new Haggen business unit will consist of 14 historic Haggen stores and one converted location in Oak Harbor.  The remaining 14 stores, which were previously divested by Albertsons, will transition over time back to the Albertsons banner. All stores will benefit from the revitalized investment plan under Albertsons ownership.

In short, the Ferndale store would, at least initially, continue to operate as a “Haggen” store under the proposed purchase plan.

The proposed sale to Albertsons is pending the bankruptcy court’s approval and subsequent closing of the transaction. The bankruptcy court will consider approval of the sale agreement on March 29th.
