6:50am: Good morning. It is a calm morning after the storm with temperatures in the low 40s and a breeze from the south. With the exception of neighbors in Marietta, Lummi Island and Custer, most everyone in Ferndale and the surrounding area who lost power during yesterday’s storm have had their power restored.
Classes at Beach Elementary on Lummi Island are cancelled today due to a power outage. The school district has announced all other schools are open following their regular schedules.
A county contractor is scheduled to start working on Slater Road west of Elder Road today. Expect delays as the road will be reduced to one lane at the work site. The project is expected to last all week.
