As if to ensure everyone was aware of its arrival, a 70mph wind gust was recorded in Ferndale and capped an increase in gusts over the past 30 minutes.

Report of a power outage impacting neighbors along Church Road from Mountain View Road northward past Aldergrove Road. Pacific Heights also reports power out. A possible cause would be the tree into the power lines by Skyline Elementary reported on Thornton Street. 1850 PSE customers impacted.
Power went out at Silver Reef. All their guests had to leave.

Traffic signals out at 4th and Main Street
New and larger outage south of the previous one. 1779 impacted
Also Sandy Points Heights to Slater Road lost power. 319 impacted

A tree has fallen across the railroad tracks somewhere off of Portal Way and is blocking the tracks.

Most are reporting power has been restored. According to public works staff, Ferndale was fortunate that PSE crews were still in the area after the last storm.
6:40pm
Wind have diminished significantly in the past 30 minutes marking a little more than a two-hour high wind period from about 4pm to after 6pm. Ironically, there remains some instances of flickering lights in some neighborhoods.

Silver Reef Casino reports their power has been restored. But over 100 neighbors in the Douglas Road and Unick Road neighborhoods between S Church Road and Elder Road are still without power. Unfortunately, PSE is unable to provide an estimate as to when power is expected to be restored.

Looking over the wind gusts recorded in Ferndale between 4pm and 6:30pm, there were four clocked at 81mph and nearly a dozen in the 70 to 80mph range.

There is a new (?) outage to report on Thornton Road between Church Road and Olson Road. About 130 PSE customers impacted. According to PSE, this outage was initially reported just after 7pm.

Power remains out for the Sandy Point Heights neighborhood. No estimate for when power will be restored.
8pm
Wind gusts continue but only at a relatively harmless 40mph, give or take a couple mph. That is less than the sustained winds recorded between 4:30pm and 5:30pm today.

Pioneer Meadows Montessori School is currently without power. Check with their Facebook page or Twitter account in the morning for updates in the event they are not able to open in the morning.
7am Monday (final update)
Most everyone in the Ferndale area has had their power restored according to PSE. There remains one outage on Lummi Island which has required the cancelling of classes at Beach Elementary today. All other schools are operating under regular schedules.
