Drivers who would normally travel Valley Highway/SR9 are advised to plan ahead and expect up to 90 minutes of additional travel time.

The lane closure will continue 24 hours a day through Friday, July 16th.

Erosion below and behind the wall requires extensive work, but there is no available funding.
Delays and detours can be expected due to these scheduled projects.
Passenger vehicle traffic will need to exit I-5 at Portal Way and semi trucks will exit at Birch Bay-Lynden Road to bypass the closure.
The closures are required while workers replace traffic data collection sensors in the area.
