The project contractor will grind and pave the roadway and restripe the lane lines.
Since 2020, the intersection has been the scene of 8 crashes, 4 of which resulted in injuries and 2 in fatalities.
As of 7am Monday, the road remained open with speed reduced through the area.
9am announcement: The reconstructed intersection at E. Smith Road and Hannegan Road is now open.
The intersection will be fully closed 24 hours daily to all traffic during this time.
The complaint was filed April 16th and the council approved the changes during an April 24th meeting.

The closure will be between 8am and 3pm each day.
