UPDATE: Officials announced the Whatcom Chief has resumed its runs between Gooseberry Point and Lummi Island.
Ferry officials announced at 9:25am that repairs had been made and service was restored.
Update: 10:50am 9/23/19: It is back in service.
2:30pm UPDATE - Service has been resumed.
The Whatcom Chief will be replaced by a passenger-only ferry while out of service.
