The Whatcom Chief provides pedestrian and vehicle ferry service between Gooseberry Point and Lummi Island.
Fares will be temporarily rolled back to May 31, 2024, fares.
A frayed cable at the Lummi Island ferry terminal interrupted ferry service Saturday and Sunday.
First responders arrived to find an E series Ford van down on the rocks at water level next to the ferry ramp.
The complaint was filed April 16th and the council approved the changes during an April 24th meeting.
The new dates mean the pedestrian-only service will be in place during the Memorial Day weekend.
Riders are being advised to plan for the dry dock to occur over a 4-week period in May and June.
The Whatcom Chief vehicle ferry spends 2 to 3 weeks in dry dock to undergo annual maintenance.
