Due to the length of the expected service outage, a passenger-only ferry was brought in.
11:25am - Ferry service has tentatively resumed after a system assessment according to Ferry Division officials.
9:45am - Ferry officials say the Whatcom Chief has been returned to service.
The original return to service was planned for Saturday. Now it will be Sunday.
The return to service was postponed a day.
