UPDATED: Lummi Island ferry service suspended due to mechanical issues

LUMMI ISLAND, Wash. —Officials with Whatcom County Ferry Division announced this morning, Monday, January 17th, about 6:20am that ferry service was being temporarily suspended.

The announcement cited mechanical issues with the Gooseberry Point dock combined with high tides.

Officials said mechanics had been called out to make repairs.

No estimate for resuming service was made at the time.

UPDATE 9:10am – Officials announced ferry service has resumed.
