Serious injury crash closes W Laurel Road

FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 900 block of W Laurel Road on Sunday, June 21, 2026, about 8:50am due to report of a truck versus sedan crash with injuries.

Initial reports from the scene was that there were multiple people with injuries, at least 1 with serious injuries. Airlift Northwest was dispatched using a nearby field as the landing zone.

Law enforcement closed down the road between Northwest Drive and Aldrich Road.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Assistant Chief Ben Russell told Whatcom News that they had 2 critical patients and 2 that were treated and released at the scene. One of the critical patients was airlifted and the other transported by a medic unit to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
