NOOKSACK, Wash. — First responder were dispatched about 10:15am on Monday, July 20, 2026, to the 8200 block of Nooksack Road (SR9) due to report that a semi-truck and trailer had driven off the road.

A witness posted a video to social media showing the truck traveling southbound and fading off the road to the right until it rolled into a ditch along the road.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported both lanes of the road were blocked and then later traffic was being alternated through a single lane.

Washington State Patrol reported this was a minor injury crash involving a power pole.

As of 12:30pm, WSDOT advised, “This is expected to be an extended lane closure, so continue to expect delays.”

A localized power outage impacting less than 5 addresses was reported in the area by Puget Sound Energy at the time of the crash. A transformer can be seen dangling after falling from its mount on a power pole in the photo above.
