Lummi Island ferry service suspended due to electrical issues

LUMMI ISLAND, Wash. —Officials with Whatcom County Ferry Division announced today, Wednesday, January 26th, that ferry service was being temporarily suspended.

The 2:30pm announcement cited a power outage at the Gooseberry Point dock.

Officials said mechanics were investigating the problem.

No estimate for resuming service was made at the time.

UPDATE 3pm: Officials announced the ferry had resumed service after power was restored at the dock.
