The Elections Division of the Whatcom County Auditor’s Office mailed out voters’ ballots for the August 4th Primary Election on July 15th. If you are a registered voter and have not received yours yet you are asked to contact their office at (360) 676-6742 any time Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The city has put on the ballot this year a tax district much like the Transportation Benefit District sales tax approved by voters a few years ago. The proposal is for a Metropolitan Parks District which will collect taxes to be used toward purchasing and maintenance on new and existing city park lands. These funds would be in addition to what has been budgeted for parks.
