WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — According to a statement from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle, Washington, at about 10am on Friday, June 12, 2026, a Heat Advisory is scheduled to be in effect for the lowlands of western Whatcom County along with many other Puget Sound areas from 11am on Sunday to 5am on Tuesday.
According to the NWS, high temperatures up to 85 to 90 degrees and low temperatures down to 60 degrees are expected. The warmest daytime high temperatures are expected Monday afternoon, and the warmest overnight lows are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The NWS reports the conditions present a moderate risk of heat-related illness for individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, individuals working outdoors should schedule frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments to reduce risk. The NWS advisory states that anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. They emphasized, “Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.”
High temperatures forecast for today across Whatcom County range from the 60s for areas closest to the water to mid-70s for areas further away.
