There will be a signed detour route via Guide Meridian, E Pole Road, Everson Goshen Road and Nooksack Road.

Each winter, WSDOT closes the narrow section of road with sharp curves and steep slopes to vehicle traffic.
"Rolling slowdowns allow crews to complete work in 15-minute increments while minimizing the impact to the traveling public, allowing them to proceed through the work zone."
The road had been cleared last week, but 16 inches of additional snow was forecast over the weekend.
Northbound and southbound lanes of I-5 at the Nooksack River Bridge are expected to be impacted.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and leave earlier if traveling through these areas at these dates and times.
A second injury crash occurred in the backup.
