BLAINE, Wash. — According to the Blaine Police Department, a 26-year-old man was arrested and booked into Whatcom County Jail on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, under Blaine Municipal Code 9.08.035 for false reporting.
An investigation into an earlier alleged stabbing, found the following.
- neither the man nor his vehicle appeared on neighbor security cameras in the reported area
- no crime scene was located
- no blood evidence was located where the vehicle was reportedly parked
- police K9 units located no scent of a suspect
- reported injuries were inconsistent with the reported assault
- security video showed the man arriving from a different direction than reported prior to calling 911
Bellingham Police Department and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
