A handful of neighbors made their concerns known to the Hearing Examiner regarding a conditional use permit applied for by Harjit and Tony Dhaliwal to operate a extended stay facility (later named Orca Inn Suites) at 5370 Barrett Road, most recently operated as Eagle Ridge Assisted Living.

The city says they have ended the search for the owner or origin of the bronze statue.
We received a number of leads, including places where people had seen similar statues (like the Birch Bay Mall and various local banks) and possible sculptors who created the statue. Unfortunately, none of them panned out. With no one stepping forward to claim the statue and little information about its origins, the City will proceed with plans to make Huckleberry a permanent part of the Star Park.

Back in August of 2014, a Ferndale neighbor discovered someone had left them a present in their backyard. It was a bronze statue of a young man.
