WSDOT on second day of real-time system data outage

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) say a system outage that has left their website and mobile apps without some information since early Tuesday, November 7th, is due to “a security incident appeared aimed at interrupting flow of travel-related information.”

The outage was first reported about 6am on Tuesday. The result was disabled pages on the WSDOT website and left some real-time resources blank in the agency’s mobile apps (click to download for Android and iOS devices).

The outage appeared to continue as of 11am on Wednesday, November 8th.

WSDOT officials have said, “There’s no indication at this time any other systems were affected.”
