BOW, Wash. — Officials with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) noted on Friday, June 6, 2025, it has been 45 days since Chuckanut Drive was closed April 22, 2025, due to a rockslide that covered both lanes.

Chuckanut Drive is closed in both directions between the Oyster Dome trail head and Chuckanut Manor. As of May, the closure was expected to continue through June.

The last update from WSDOT on May 22, 2025, said emergency repair work was “going well.”

Specialty teams are scaling the slope, removing loose rock and preparing the area for drilling and stabilization.

On Thursday, May 21, work also began at a second site about three miles north near milepost 13, where a rockslide occurred in November 2024.

As a reminder, businesses, trails and Larrabee State Park remain open during this time. This is a complex repair due to the size of the slide.

WSDOT warns pedestrians and cyclists not to go around road closed signs while work continues 7 days a week to stabilize the slope.
