Motorcycle vs car crash on Mt Baker Highway results in rider being taken to the hospital

GLACIER, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the scene of a motorcycle versus car crash on Mt Baker Highway east of Glacier about 2pm today.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant said the motorcycle rider was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening back and or neck injuries.

Washington State Department of Transportation reported traffic was being alternated through 1 open lane at the scene of the crash as of 3pm. The road was reported reopened to all traffic by 3:45pm.

Oliphant said the crash involved a 2012 BMW motorcycle and a 2002 Toyota Avalon.

There were no injuries to anyone in the Toyota Oliphant said.

Oliphant said the investigation determined the motorcycle rider was attempting to pass unsafe and received a ticket for passing in a no passing zone.
