FERNDALE, Wash. — Jonathon “John” Charles Sortino, age 55, was arrested by Ferndale Police on December 15, 2021. He was recently sentenced in Whatcom County Superior Court to over 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to the following charges.
- 1st-degree rape of a child – 162 months in prison
- 1st-degree dealing in depiction of minors engaged in sexual conduct – 54 months
The sentencing also includes a lifetime in community custody after serving the prison sentence.
Sortino’s arrest followed an investigation that included the victim’s testimony regarding years of abuse and online conversations between Sortino and a friend that included what appeared to be confessions to the crimes.
