Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram and Threads users internationally are currently reporting service outages. They have reported being asked to log in but attempts to do so are unsuccessful.
Initial reports of the service disruptions began around 6:30am on Tuesday, June 12, 2026.
Users across the globe have reported a variety of system-wide failures:
- Unexpected Logouts: Many users were suddenly booted from the Facebook and Messenger apps and found themselves completely unable to log back in.
- Error Messages: People attempting to access the platforms via web browsers or apps have been met with prompts such as “404 – Page Not Found,” “temporarily unavailable,” or general “something went wrong” messages.
- Broken Feeds and Media: Instagram users reported that their feeds would not refresh, and reels were freezing on the first frame or failing to play entirely.
- Messaging Failures: Users across Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp experienced widespread inability to send, receive, or load chat messages.
The services are all operated by parent company Meta which, as of 7am, has not issued an acknowledgement of the outage.
UPDATE: Users began reporting intermittent access to services around 7:30am.
