Rollover crash temporarily closed northbound I-5 lanes in Bellingham on Friday

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 3:30pm on October 2, 2026, to the northbound lanes of I-5 near the Iowa Street interchange due to reports of an injury crash.

Washington State Patrol reported about 4:10pm that I-5 northbound was fully blocked for a 3-car injury collision, with one car on its top. No estimate for when the roadway would reopen was available.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported about 4:30pm that the left northbound lane along with the left southbound lane had been reopened.

WSDOT reported at about 5:30pm all northbound lanes were reopened.
