BLAINE, Wash. — The US-Canada Peace Arch border crossing has been closed due to a power outage on the US side shortly after 7pm on Sunday, September 3rd.
Officials with the Washington State Patrol and Washington State Department of Transportation announced the Peace Arch Border Crossing (I-5) was closed in both directions. Motorists were being advised to cross at the nearby Blaine truck crossing via SR543
An initial estimate of 2 to 3 hours to restore power was given.
An outage on Saturday, August 12th, recently closed the Peace Arch Border Crossing in a similar fashion.
Update 7:45pm: WSP reports power had been restored and the border crossing will be reopening shortly.
