BLAINE, Wash. — The US-Canada Peace Arch border crossing was closed due to a power outage on the US side during the afternoon of Saturday, August 12th.
Officials with the City of Blaine said as of 3pm crews were on site and working to restore power to an area described as, “a large portion west of the truck crossing.”
Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation reported about 4:45pm that power had been restored at the border and the crossing had been reopened.
About 5pm, Blaine officials said crews were continuing to work to restore power. By 6pm, they said power had been restored.
