Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced today, Tuesday, November 14th, that the North Cascades Highway (SR20) would be reopened to traffic as of 1pm after being closed for the past 3 days.
Earlier today, WSDOT officials assessed the conditions and said they would wait until tomorrow morning to make another assessment. But, shortly after noon today made the following announcement.
After another review of conditions, SR 20 North Cascades will reopen as of 1PM, Tuesday Nov. 14. Continued cold temps helped stabilize conditions so our crews could safely clear the road. Washington State Department of Transportation (November 14, 2023)
Motorists planning to cross the North Cascades Highway are advised to be prepared for winter travel conditions.
Other WSDOT announcements today included that Cayuse (SR123) and Chinook Passes (SR410) have been closed for the winter season.
