As forecast with yesterday’s High Wind Warning, the Ferndale area was hit by high winds overnight.
Wind gusts reached 52mph about 2:35am according to a Ferndale weather station located near Ferndale High School. They remained above 40mph between 1:30am and 3am.
Earlier this morning, a pole was reported to be leaning over Vista Drive by Vista Middle School. But it turned out to be a length of PVC conduit that had separated from the pole and appeared to pose no immediate hazard.
Otherwise, there have been no reports of local damage which may change with the arrival of daylight.
Although gusts have dropped below 30mph since 5am, the High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9am today.
