High winds had been included in the weather forecast and the National Weather Service just issued a Wind Advisory.
The NWS advisory is in effect from 6pm this evening to 8am Friday Thursday morning. According to the advisory, the strongest winds are expected late this evening and into the overnight hours.
Southeast winds from 25 to 35 mph with gusts near 50mph are expected.
Earlier today, the City of Ferndale announced it was taking steps in anticipation of tonight’s winds.
