Update 5:30pm:
The city provided information for a “phase II” for the water flushing that will begin next week but nothing about the changes to this week’s schedule. Another request for information has been made.
Original Story:
The Water Flush project being conducted by Ferndale public works crews continues this week. Reportedly there have been some changes to the schedule according to city staff and that information is being waited on.
Last week, the process proceeded up to the third group of neighbors (blue based on the city-provided map below) by Thursday. The project restarts today. But, according to Public Works Supervisor Bo Westford, the effort today is around the schools on Thornton Street since students are out of school all week. From the latest information received from the city, tomorrow crews will move on to the last group of neighborhoods (green on the map).
Westford warns neighbors in the areas adjacent to current water flush activity to be aware sediment may appear in your water and advises to make sure your water is clear before doing laundry or other projects for which discolored water could cause problems.
