WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Drivers should be prepared and aware that thousands of runners following a course through western Whatcom County can be expected to impact traffic beginning tomorrow morning, Friday, July 9th.

Since 2007, relay teams participating in the Annual Northwest Passage Ragnar Relay have taken off from Blaine, continued through Ferndale and Bellingham while following a course that ends up on Whidbey Island.

Drivers are advised to use caution around the course since runners and relay team support van drivers come from all over the Pacific Northwest and are often unfamiliar with local area and roads. Many roads on the course do not provide shoulders for the runners. Delays can be expected.
