Allegiant completes acquisition of Sun Country Airlines

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Allegiant Travel Company (Allegiant) completed its acquisition of Sun Country Airlines Holdings, Inc. (Sun Country) today, May 13, 2026. The transaction closed following regulatory and shareholder approvals.

The combined company will operate a fleet of 195 aircraft, with 30 aircraft on order and 80 options. The network includes 650 routes across 175 cities, serving 22,000,000 customers annually.

The combined company is headquartered in Las Vegas and will continue to maintain an operating center at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Sun Country’s hub of operations. The company will eventually integrate into a single operating platform and fly under the Allegiant name.

The 2 airlines will operate separately in the near term. Customer service, reservations, and loyalty programs remain separate during this time.

Customers are being advised to expect the following.

  • no changes to existing reservations
  • no changes to scheduled flights
  • tickets restricted to the issuing airline
  • separate loyalty programs and credit card benefits
