The approximately 1-mile-long lane closure will enable WSDOT workers to repair damaged guardrails and remove low-hanging trees in the area.

Motorists encountered what were described as "deceptively icy" roads.

1 person was pronounced dead after leaving their crashed vehicle and being struck by another vehicle.
Law enforcement reported the incident had been safely resolved and all lanes of I-5 were reopened at 2:20pm.
A localized system moved through the area beginning about 5:30am and traffic impacts were continuing as of 7:30am.
This is the same location of a similar incident with an excavator last month.
First responders were dispatched about 5:25pm to a report of a rollover crash in the northbound lanes.
