BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Washington State Department of Transportation officials say motorists can expect delays today, Thursday, January 13th, in the northbound lanes of I-5 north of the Nulle Road interchange due to a lane closure.
The approximately 1-mile-long lane closure will enable WSDOT workers to repair damaged guardrails and remove low-hanging trees in the area.
The right lane is expected to be closed from 8am to 3pm.
The closure will be similar to yesterday’s unannounced lane closure between the W Smith Road overpass and Portal Way interchange. That, according to the Washington State Patrol, was also to make repairs to barriers damaged during recent crashes in the area.
I was heading south, and still saw a backup on the northbound side in that area.
3:45 pm was the time of my observation.
