FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale Police report they were dispatched to the 2500 block of Norway Drive Sunday, November 22nd, due to a report of found mail. Over the course of their investigation, responding officers “gathered 2 large bags of mail [and] dozens of opened packages,” according to a news release sent yesterday.
The mail was found in the roadway and along the side of the road, according to City Communications Officer Riley Sweeney. Sweeney said it was unknown how many victims needed to be contacted or how many were from within the Ferndale area.
Mail recovered was addressed to locations in Marysville, Bellingham and Ferndale according to the news release. Sweeney said the majority of the mail discovered was postmarked. A postmark would indicate the mail was in the process of being delivered or had already been delivered to mailboxes.
Anyone with information that may identify possible suspects is asked to contact Ferndale Police Officer Brown at (360) 483-5731 or via email at sbrown@ferndalepd.org.
