Whatcom County Emergency Communications Center, known as What-Comm, is reportedly impacted by a statewide 911 outage that began being reported about 4pm today, October 22nd.

Whenever 911 does not work for anyone, they are advised to call the appropriate 10-digit number for the agency needed:

  • Call (360) 676-6911 or (360) 676-6711 for local law enforcement
  • Call (360) 676-6811 for local fire or medical
  • Call (360) 654-1204 for Washington State Patrol

Do not call 911 to test whether the service has resumed working. Doing so puts an unnecessary burden on the system and call receivers.

Washington State Emergency Management reported that not all 911 agencies are impacted but that agencies in both eastern and western Washington were reporting outages.

No cause for the outages has been given.

UPDATE 4:50pm
Officials are reporting service has been restored and no cause was given.
