About 1pm today, police and aid were dispatched to Barrett Road, between Main Street and W Smith Road, near U-Haul Moving & Storage of Ferndale, for a single-vehicle rollover crash.
Ferndale Police on the scene suspected the black Honda passenger car was southbound and overcorrected after veering off the right side of the road and struck 1 of 3 U-Haul company vehicles parked along the road and then rolled at least once ending up on its tires. The Honda sustained heavy damage including a caved-in roof on the driver’s side and the right-rear tire folded under the car. The U-Haul vehicle sustained damage to the front right corner.
Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said they transported the driver to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police were still investigating the crash at the time of this story.
