FERNDALE, Wash. — Officials with the City of Ferndale announced today that positive identification of remains found on the bank of the Nooksack River in 2022 has been made following an investigation and receiving DNA test results.

The remains have been identified as those of a Ferndale man who was reported missing in 2002 after having been last seen by his parents at his residence. He was 46 years old at the time.

Initial analysis indicated the remains had been in the west riverbank a short distance from the Main Street bridge for a least a decade.
