The Ferndale Police Department put the community on alert today over an increase in reported vandalism of houses, businesses and vehicles.

According to FPD Lieutenant Bill Hatchett, there have been approximately 15 acts of malicious mischief reported to the Ferndale Police since mid-July and they may be related.

The vandalism includes buildings and vehicles being ‘egged,’ and windows being shot by a BB gun. The locations of the vandalism have been reported on the following streets:

* Diane Court
* Seamount Drive
* Somerset Street
* Diamond Lane
* Hendrickson Avenue
* Heights Drive
* Cirrus Circle
* Seahawk Drive
* Church Road
* Main Street
* 2nd Avenue

Hatchett says Ferndale Police are working to identify those responsible for the damages, but no suspects have been identified yet. “Ferndale Police want to make everyone aware of this on-going issue and are asking for anyone that may have information about the incidents to contact the Ferndale Police Department,” Hatchett said in an email.

The Ferndale Police Department can be reached at 2220 Main Street and by calling (360) 384-3390 between 8am and 5pm.
