Letter to the Editor: Supports Hansen for mayor

As seniors living on fixed incomes, it will difficult to budget all the new tax increases proposed by the current mayor. Ferndale citizens are about to experience the highest tax and rate increases in it’s history. We need a Mayor that will make the difficult decisions for the tax payer. That is why we are supporting Greg Hansen for Mayor.

We need a Mayor who will lead and direct the staff. We currently have an “I need; I want and a give me” attitude within the City administration. We do not need a new City Hall. We need to take the rooms of files and scan the files and free up space for staff. We do need a new Court House. The City of Blaine is a great example of how to bring our antiquated court system into the future.

We need to collect on the past penalties from offenders which is somewhere between $6 and $8 million. It has been explained to us that the fines cannot be collected because there is not a City of Ferndale staff member available on-site on court day to collect the fines. The offender receives a fine and walks right out the door and does not go up to our Police Station to pay their fine. This is unacceptable.

Greg Hansen will bring a whole new attitude of leadership to our City. Please vote for Greg Hansen for Mayor.
