The fountain at Centennial Riverwalk Park is typically run from May until the end of September. But this year, according to City of Ferndale officials, the start will be a little later.
Public Works Director Kevin Renz said upgrades were being made to the fountain’s mechanical system this year and as a result its start date would be delayed. When asked when to expect the fountain to return to service, Renz simply replied, “Soon-ish.”
City workers could be seen today descending into the mechanical room below ground where the plumbing and machinery that drives the fountain is located.
