As a mark of respect for the memory of John McCain, President Donald Trump and Washington State Governor Jay Inslee have ordered flags be flown at half staff until sunset on the day of his interment.

The decorated war hero and 2008 Republican presidential nominee served Arizona for more than 30 years on Capitol Hill. He died Saturday afternoon after battling cancer. He was 81.
