Our neighbors to the south are going to encounter their first fireworks-free New Year’s celebrations this year. Bellingham voted to ban fireworks in the city limits year-round.
Setting off fireworks in Ferndale is legal from 6:00 p.m. on December 31st until 1:00 a.m. on January 1st. This includes common consumer fireworks (Class C) but not firecrackers, skyrockets and missile-type rockets.
