Ferndale High School Teacher Tony Torretta was recently chosen as the “Mariner Teacher of the Week.”
According to a Ferndale School District announcement,
Some of the reasons Tony was selected for the honor include: 1) involving his students in various community projects, 2) helping our district conserve energy by making sure systems in buildings are running efficiently and saving on utility bills, and 3) ensuring the Veterinary Science class is a top program in the state and coaching Vet Science teams to state championships. Last, but not least, Tony is upbeat and always has a “can do” attitude which cause students to gravitate to his programs.
Torretta attended the Mariners baseball game last Sunday in Seattle where he was recognized over the public address system and given a $500 check to be used for classroom materials.
