FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 8:30pm on Tuesday, May 30th, due to reports of a crash on Malloy Avenue north of Thornton Street.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Russell told Whatcom News they arrived to find neighbors assisting the driver who was in an upside-down vehicle. Aid personnel transported the driver to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center under advanced life support (ALS) protocol according to Russell.

As of 9:30pm, Ferndale Police were onsite investigating the crash and Malloy Avenue was closed between Thornton Street and Jensen Street.

From the debris and marks on the roadway, it appears the northbound vehicle crossed the center line, struck a tree, became airborne and landed upside down after crashing into a parked white SUV in a driveway several feet off the roadway.

The crash occurred in approximately the same location of a similar injury rollover crash in 2021.
