Known as Stevenson McCulloch CPAs since the early 1980s, local accountants, Lew Stevenson and Tim McCulloch, have recently dissolved the partnership and reorganized as two practices in Ferndale. McCulloch Accountancy Corp. is located at 1974 LaBounty Drive in a location previously occupied by the partners several years ago. Stevenson Group CPA is located at 1951 Main Street in the location more recently occupied by the partners.
McCulloch and Stevenson had been partners since 1981 when they first opened an office in Bellingham. In 1994, according to McCulloch, they acquired an accounting office in Ferndale at the LaBounty Drive location and operated both until 2008. They later moved from the LaBounty Drive office into a new building they built on Main Street about 2010 according to Stevenson.

Click for more informationAnother Ferndale accountant recently announced at least one significant change for his clients. He has retired. Accountant Darby O’Neil announced to his clients in December he was retiring after 38 years in public accounting. In a letter sent to clients advising them of his retirement, O’Neil explained his files had been forwarded to an accountant in Bellingham who would be available to continue servicing their accounting and tax filing needs.
While not changing business direction or name, the Ferndale Mini Market at 4th Avenue and Main Street is undergoing a makeover according to manager Gina Tapley. Tapley said neighbors will see a new electronic signboard by the sidewalk and better lighting and decorative skirting around the top of the canopy over the gas pumps. Work is already underway to make these changes.
