UPDATED: Many in East Ferndale wake to no power

Several neighborhoods near Northwest Drive and W Axton Road are without power this morning.

According to Puget Sound Energy, about 100 of their customers lost power around 6:30am in the neighborhoods west of Northwest Drive and both north and south of W Axton Road (see map).

As of 6:45am, crews were heading to the area and no cause had been determined. The standard 2-hour estimation to restore power was being given (8:30am).

These same neighborhoods were without power just a few weeks ago when an animal or bird was determined to be the cause.

UPDATE 7:30am
PSE’s estimation for restoring power has been updated to 7:50am. No cause has been announced.

UPDATE 8am
PSE’s estimation for restoring power is now 11:30am. No cause has been announced but the extended time to restore power typically indicates equipment failure.

UPDATE 8:15am
All but 6 PSE customers have seen their power restored according to PSE. The estimation for restoring power for the 6 remains at 11:30am. The cause of the outage has been identified as bird or animal.

UPDATE 11:15am
PSE updated the estimated restoration time to 11:20am and updated the impacted customer count to 8.

PSE is reporting 8 customers remain without power and no updated estimate for when the power will be able to be restored.

UPDATE 12pm
PSE has updated their estimate for restoring power to 12:05pm.

UPDATE 1:45pm
PSE reports power has been restored to the remainder of impacted customers.
