Driver has close call on northbound I-5 at Grandview

This afternoon about 2:30pm, a driver heading north on I-5 left the roadway at the Grandview Road overpass. Tracks in the grass showed the vehicle narrowly missed colliding with both the overpass and a utility box under the overpass.

Fortunately, the Mercedes Benz was able to slow before coming to a rest at the base of a large evergreen between the northbound on-ramp and I-5. The driver was evaluated at the scene by medics and reported to have suffered a medical episode according the Washington State Patrol. The driver was not cited.
