Crash on Lawrence Road sends 1 to hospital – temporary road closure

EVERSON, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 6300 block of Lawrence Road today, April 23rd, about 8:30am due to a report of a 2-vehicle crash.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant, a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta sedan had driven into the rear of a flatbed trailer connected to a semitruck. The truck and trailer were parked and unloading at the time of the crash.

Whatcom County Fire District 1 Division Chief Darren Branum said they transported 1 patient from the scene via ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center under basic life support (BLS) protocol with non-life-threatening injuries.

Oliphant said troopers at the scene closed the road until about 11:40am to investigate the crash. It was unknown at the time this story was published whether any citations or charges were pending.
