Law enforcement and aid units were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Bay Road this afternoon about 3:50pm.
They found a single vehicle wedged between a fence and a power pole.
According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko, one person from the vehicle was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating the crash.
Boyko speculated the significant damage to the pole led to a subsequent power outage. Puget Sound Energy officials cited car/equipment accident as the cause of the power outage.
